01Registering for an event

Filling in the registration form is an application, not a confirmed seat. Our rooms are small and deliberately mixed, so we select attendees rather than admitting everyone who applies.

If you are selected, we confirm on WhatsApp and send you a QR code. That code is your entry pass. It is issued to you personally and cannot be passed to someone else.

If you are not selected for a particular evening, it is not a judgement on you or your business — it usually means the room is already full, or already heavy in your sector.

02Payment and refunds

Applying costs nothing. You are only asked to pay once your selection is confirmed, and the ticket price is shown on the event page before you apply.

If we cancel an event, you get a full refund.

If we move an event to another date, your seat moves with it. If the new date does not work for you, tell us and we will refund you in full.

If you cannot make it after paying, let us know at least five days before the event and we will move your seat to the next edition. Inside five days we cannot refund the seat, because the catering, venue and seating are already committed.

03Your information

The registration form asks for your name, WhatsApp number, LinkedIn profile, business name, your role, your industry, what you are looking for, and your current fundraising or investing intent. If you tell us you invest, we also ask your typical cheque size.

We use it for three things: to decide who is selected and how to balance the room, to contact you about the event you applied for, and to let you know about future StartupHUB events.

We do not sell your information, and we do not pass it to our partners or sponsors.

It is handled by the services that run this site and our messaging — hosting, our database, and WhatsApp. They process it for us and nothing else.

We keep it until you ask us to remove it. You can ask at any time, and you can ask us for a copy of what we hold. Message the WhatsApp number below and we will action it.

04Photography and filming

We photograph and sometimes film our events, and we use those pictures to show people what the evenings are like — on this site, on social media, and in future invitations.

By attending you agree to appear in them. If you would rather not, tell us when you arrive and we will keep you out of shot.

05Attending is your own decision

You come to a StartupHUB event of your own free will, and you are responsible for yourself while you are there — including getting there and home, and looking after your own belongings.

We do not vet attendees beyond the registration form, and we are not responsible for what other people at an event say, do, or promise.

Nothing said at our events is investment, legal, financial or business advice, and it is not an offer of investment. If you meet an investor, a co-founder or a customer at one of our evenings, anything you go on to agree with them is between you and them. Do your own checks.

This does not limit any responsibility we cannot lawfully exclude, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

06How to behave in the room

These evenings work because people relax. Be decent to everyone there. No harassment, no discrimination, no hard selling, and no pitching at someone who has made it clear they are not interested.

If someone makes the room unpleasant or unsafe, we will ask them to leave, and they will not be refunded.

07Things that may change

Dates, venues, timings and who is in the room can change, and occasionally an event has to be cancelled. We will tell you on WhatsApp as soon as we know.

If we update these terms, the date at the top of this page changes. The terms that apply to you are the ones published when you registered.
